How to Get to Brownsea Island

The most popular way to get to Brownsea Island is by ferry. There are two ferry companies that operate services from Poole Harbour:

Both companies offer a range of ticket options, including single and return tickets, and family tickets. You can book your tickets online or in person at the ferry terminal.
The ferry journey takes around 15 minutes from Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island.
Poole Ferry
Poole Ferry operates a regular service from Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island. The ferry leaves from Sandbanks Pier on the Poole side of the harbour, and takes around 15 minutes to reach Brownsea Island.

- Family tickets

City Cruises
City Cruises also operates a regular service from Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island. The ferry leaves from Poole Quay on the Bournemouth side of the harbour, and takes around 15 minutes to reach Brownsea Island.

Other Ways to Get to Brownsea Island
There are a few other ways to get to Brownsea Island, but these are less convenient than taking the ferry.
You can:
- Take a private boat
- Swim to the island (not recommended)
