The Jacksonville Jaguars and Pro Bowl linebacker Josh Allen have agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $150 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal includes a whopping $88 million guaranteed, making Allen one of the highest-paid players at his position in the NFL.

Allen has been a cornerstone of the Jaguars' defense since being drafted by the team in 2019. In 2023, he recorded a franchise-record 17.5 sacks, tying for second in the NFL. His impressive performance earned him his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection.

The Jaguars have made it clear that retaining Allen is a top priority, as they released several other defensive starters to create salary cap space for his new deal. Allen's contract surpasses all previous contracts in Jaguars' history, signaling the team's commitment to building a strong defense around him.

"Josh Allen is a special player and a key part of our future," said Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke. "This contract extension demonstrates our belief in his ability and our commitment to keeping him in Jacksonville."

With Allen locked in long-term, the Jaguars now have one of the most formidable pass rushes in the NFL. The 27-year-old linebacker is expected to continue to terrorize opposing quarterbacks and help lead the Jaguars to success in the coming seasons.
